Rest.
At 2:30 a.m. when I should be resting – and for whatever reason, I’m awake – I run to the scriptures. Because I’m unpacking Psalm 23, I am drawn to this part of the passage.
Rest.
It’s such a comfort to me when I’m experiencing insomnia or awaken after an unpleasant dream to know He makes me lie down in green pastures. He’s such a calming presence. Just the mention of His name in those situations is like a mist of lavender on my pillow.
God wants me to REST.
He’s prepared a green pasture for me to lie down in.
Rest is not for the weak.
Rest helps make us strong.
It fortifies us for Mondays! I challenge you to a duel of rest this Sabbath.
