As a young teenager, I wanted to fit in and impress everyone at school. I can remember going shopping and wishing for designer brands and styles that were ‘in’ ~ and incidentally, right back ‘OUT’ as fast as they came in! Wanting the newest Vans or Jams and tickets to Duran Duran in concert. I was not an outcast because I didn’t have those things. Quite the contrary! MOST of my friends didn’t have those things! But, I do remember thinking how great it would be to have those things and how it would change my life to come to school the day after a concert wearing a concert tee. Until sitting down to write this evening, I had actually forgotten about all of those things!
I did finally get to go to a concert. My first concert was during my sophomore year in high school. I went with my friend Paige and met some other friends at a U2 concert. I did come home with a concert tee. I did wear it with my completely ripped Guess acid-washed jeans and vans to school the next day. And to my surprise, it was not life-changing at all. I blended right in. And I forgot about it all…until just now! A forgotten memory…
In life, we are forever trying to do something that will make people remember us. We are always wanting to obtain that next big thing. We want to explore new heights and get more stuff to put in our already overflowing closets and garages. I know this because I’ve done it! I have closets and attic space filled to the rafters with STUFF! I’ve forgotten why I have it.
I am so thankful that I have not been forgotten by the One who has changed my life ~ in an eternal way.
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”

“God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”
